Most varieties come from the Tohoku region of Japan and undergo postharvest ripening, a process that produces a smoother texture and thicker juice. This course includes a generous selection of ripe pears at their sweetest and most aromatic, and starts with a welcome drink followed by a surprisingly large parfait and a colorful stand of sweets with enough savories to serve as a meal in itself. The splendorous tea sets and plates by French porcelain manufacturer Raynaud and teas by prestigious French tea house Dammann Frères grace the deepening autumn afternoon.

In the evening starting at 7:00, enjoy two hours of free flow drink service including red and white wines and cocktails, served alongside savory dishes made with Western pears such as Smoked Salmon and Pear Marinade Accented with Calamansi Vinegar, and Chèvre and Pear Compote.
